Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo on a cold winter morning in my way to Eguisheim from Colmar, in the region of Alsace, France.

Time

It was around 9:30 in the morning, as I decided to ride with the morning sun to not get colder.

Lighting

I remember I wanted to use a bike most than anything, it’s been a while since I’ve done it. As Eguisheim was just 7 kilometres from Colmar, I rented a bike and following the instructions of the rental guy I took the road he said it would be very worth it as I was going to find “a beautiful and lovely landscape”. I understood what he told me when I encountered this lovely little wood. I just had to stop riding and took my camera, I had all the time in the world.

Equipment

I used a Canon 77D and a 10-16mm

Inspiration

The scene was so beautiful that I couldn’t resist it, it was the time to be shot. It’s a photo I would like to see in my living room to remember that little spot of time many times.

Editing

As I took the photo in RAW format I modified lightning, a bit of white balance and color in Photoshop

In my camera bag

I always come out with 3 lenses: a 11-16mm, a 50mm 1.8f and the 18-55 mm with 3 filters (ND, UV and Polarizer). If I know I’ll photograph sunsets or night landscapes I also take my Manfrotto tripod.

Feedback

If you feel and know you can take a great picture, follow your intuition! Photography is about waiting for the right moment to immortalize what you believe to be unique and lasting.
