Location
This photo was taken at an airbnb in Reno, NV. I had traveled there to visit and was able to set up a phootshoot while I was there.Time
This photo was taken around 4pm. The sun was just starting to set and was coming through the window. The window had sheer curtains which allowed the room to light up the room with such soft lighting.Lighting
The window was giving off this bright light so back lighting the model gave her a glow that outlined her but then used to body to block the light on her left side to create some contrast.Equipment
This was shot on my Olympus E-M1MarkII, using the Olympus 12-40mm f/2.8 PRO lensInspiration
This started with a photo I saw on social media with a model in a white tank top. Originally I had planned for this look to be in the kitchen but when the light lit up the room I knew we had to pivot the concept. Being in the bedroom, I was going to a more sensual look which lead to the idea of pulling down the front of her shirt.Editing
There was very minimal post processing done on this I raised the shadows to bring up the details in the hair.In my camera bag
I carry 3 lens with me in my bag. The 12-40mm f/2.8 (24-80mm FF equivalent) is the lens that lives on my camera 80% of the time. I also have the 40-150mm f/2.8 (80-300mm FF equivalent) for that compression look. Finally, I also have 25mm f/1.8 (50mm FF equivalent) for the times I want a bit more DOF. I will sometimes carry a speedlight with me but I like to shoot with natural light most of the time.Feedback
Be prepared to adjust your plan when shooting. There are no guarantees especially when it comes to natural lighting. While you don't need to plan out every scenario, plan ahead for pivotal moments
