Location
My wife and I were driving through the Krasnodar territory, in Russia, towards one of the remote rural villages, when these Golden fields of rapeseed appeared on the horizon under a perfect blue April sky… We both immediately screamed with delight, heart palpitations, wild ecstasy and a feeling that "this does not happen".Time
It was a beautiful afternoon on April 18, when we, in the South of Russia, are already quite hot and the blinding sun, hovering over the horizon, mercilessly pours its life-giving light on the earth.Lighting
The sunlight was very intense, falling diagonally to the side of the model and I smoothed the shadow on the opposite side a little with a reflector.Equipment
The camera was used when shooting Canon - EOS 5D Mark II with Canon EF 24-105 f 3.5-5.6 IS STM autofocus zoom lens (70)Inspiration
Yellow is the new black. It would seem that rapeseed is an ordinary agricultural crop, but what is the combination – gold on blue, the color of the sun and the color of the clear sky. As for me, the most lively colors. This background can only be contrasted with "non-color" - black, as the antipode of the content of the form, internal-external, the receptacle and absorption of all forms and meanings, the cosmic Nothing. Yellow becomes the new black next to black, it shows its indomitable thirst to live, impress and warm precisely in combination with the abyss of black nothingness, in which there is no life, no emotions, no warmth. Yellow does not win, but shows a life equal to death. It remains a choice of who to be: to Shine with gold in the midst of blackness and gloom, or to loom as a black monk at the gay festival of life.Editing
I shoot in raw format, then convert the file in Lightroom and it's a whole magic that can't be described clearly, a lot depends on my mood and desires and I search, move the sliders until I reach my "wow"In my camera bag
I am only at the beginning of my wonderful career as a photographer and my equipment is quite simple: my faithful Canon EOS 5D Mark II (bought used), a lens for portrait shooting Canon 50 mm 1.8, a multi-purpose zoom lens Canon EF 24-105 mm f 3.5-5.6 IS STM and a perfect miracle of Soviet photo technology-the king of bokeh and the master of magic blur-the lens Helios 77 M4, which I shoot all creativity. In addition, there is a Godox flash, a transmitter, two sets of batteries, a reflector, a softbox and a photo flashlight.Feedback
My way of shooting is to look at everything around you through the eyes of an artist - thief who is trying to find a cherished wow image and steal it for his own shot. And I also try to travel with my wife, who, fortunately, is doing a great job as a model.
