Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken on a DIY lace backdrop in my living room. You can see more from the series on my profile.

Time

It was one of the last shots, around 3 pm!

Lighting

Natural light camera right with a fill flash on camera.

Equipment

Sony A7III Samyang 35MM 1.4 Flash

Inspiration

Continuing off my wet florals series, we wanted to create something from nothing. We had nothing to pin the flowers, they kept falling during placement so this was shot very quickly.

Editing

Oh yes of course! Beauty photography absolutely includes post process. Edited with preset base SMAL 01 with tweaks. Then over to photoshop using Kate Whyte's guide for beauty retouching.

In my camera bag

A little bit of everything! All my camera gear, a ton of sd cards and batteries. Things to shoot through. Always snacks!

Feedback

When we planned this shoot it was to be low stress and for fun. I find I create the best with no pressure. It was picked up and published by Elegant Magazine but originally it was not the intent. Originally Ginger Turley Artistry, Emily Phillips of Deja Vu Management and I just wanted to create and enjoy.
