Location
I usually photograph my flowers in the dark kitchen, it is my "studio". No wind moves the blossoms, no insect unexpectedly gets in the way and no neighbour wonders what I'm doing there with my camera :)Time
When I shoot late in the evening or at night, I have all the time in the world to try out different angles and the right light.Lighting
Most of the light comes from above under my cupboard, a little bit from the left (both led-technology).Equipment
My preferred camera for flower and macro photography is a Panasonic Lumix G81 together with the LUMIX G MACRO 30mm / F2.8 ASPH H-HS030 lens, of course I used a tripod and cable release.Inspiration
I especially like the small things, the bright colours and elegant shapes of the flowers and blossoms. Anemones, along with some other species, are particularly good for trying out different lights, angles, perspectives, details and so on.Editing
Most of the time I try to get as close as possible to the desired result via the lighting and white balance of the camera while shooting. Sometimes I use software such as Perfectly Clear by Athentech to influence the colours a little more or to make them glow even more.In my camera bag
For flower photography in my "kitchen studio" I don't need a photo backpack :) On the road, however, I am usually accompanied by the Panasonic LUMIX G81 camera with the two lenses LUMIX G H-HS030 and LUMIX G H-FS14140, plus a tripod and possibly a polarising filter.Feedback
Above all, be patient until you are satisfied with the result! And always have fun! Try it, use different perspectives, details and lights! Dare to cut the edges!
