Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at the end of my street, in Rio, Florida. The water is the St Lucie River, part of the inter-coastal waterway system.

Time

This is late afternoon with the sun over my shoulder.

Lighting

Like many photographers, I love the "Golden Hour" at sunrise and sunset.

Equipment

I've several cameras, but this particular shot was done with a Samsung Galaxy S20 cellphone. I commonly take several shots with both my Lumix and the cellphone.

Inspiration

I'm always on the lookout for clouds, lighting, and framing.

Editing

A simple click of the HDR option with the Snapseed App.

In my camera bag

Panasonic Lumix FZ-100, a Lumix ZS80 and tripod for videos, another Lumix ZS80 for still images, several 128Gb SD cards, a spare tripod, and the aforementioned Samsung Galaxy S20.

Feedback

First off, take lots of pictures! Anything that happens to catch your eye, no matter how mundane or odd it appears. Secondly, always take several shots of the same scene. If you only take one, that is assuredly going to be the one that is out of focus, misframed, or too dark.
