Location
This is a photo of the Master Bathroom in my home.Time
This shot was taken mid morning. This window faces south east, so the room gets dramatic lighting in the morning as the sun rises.Lighting
All natural light, the big window over the tub let’s in a lot of sunlight and at different times of day the light can look pretty dramatic.Equipment
I was handheld on my Fuji X100F. Not quite the camera I would recommend for real estate photography, as the 35mm lens isn’t quite wide enough. But it’s the camera I had closest when then the light hit just right.Inspiration
Well, for starters, the bathroom was clean! But really there was a little cloud cover so the light was somewhat filtered and not blown out. I love long shadows and the light through the window was great, so I grabbed my camera.Editing
Yes, I edit most of my photos in Adobe Lightroom. This picture was exposed well in camera so I didn’t do much to it other than make it black and white. In my camera bag
I recently switched from Canon to Sony, so I have a Sony A7RIV in my bag as my main shooter. I have the 24-105 G f4 lens and the Zeiss 55mm F1.8 that I carry most days. I also carry the X100F as a quick and compact option. I usually have a Aputure Amaran light or two with me as well, in case I need a light in a pinch.Feedback
Study the normal light conditions over the course of a few days and make notes on what time of day will be best to get the effect you want. Real estate shots like this can be shot with a flash or lights but the dramatic look will come from getting natural light at the right moment.
