Arrived on the penultimate day of March at a nearby pond near the city, surrounded by an abandoned orchard. I got out of the car and was stunned by the strong, fragrant smell of flowering trees, they were all around like soft white clouds. Cherry and Apple trees. The air was still, and the evening sun sinking over the water gave me this beautiful, soothing picture of a dead wild flower.
