Zaanse Schans is a small town next to the Zaan river, just a few km north of Amsterdam (Netherland). That is where you will find these windmills and a lot more. The brown one on the left is an oilmill named "De Zoeker", it produces oil from peanuts and dates back to 1672. The green and brown one with red roof on the right is a paintmill named "De Kat" and dates back to 1782. It is the last remaining wind-powered paintmill in the world that grinds pigments and dyestuff.
