Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken inside the ATENEO Grand Splendid Bookstore in Buenos Aires.

Time

In the afternoon, one or two hours before closing to public.

Lighting

Being inside, the illumination was great, many lamps all around allowing people to clearly chose and even read the books.

Equipment

At that time I took this photo with my older Olympus VG-160 without any flash or special equipment.

Inspiration

I've heard that this is the second most beautiful bookstore in the world. Visiting Argentina and being in Buenos Aires, I couldn't avoid myself to go there. I didn't know that I even could have lunch there! The bookstore was designed and built as a theatre (1919) and that's why the interior is just like a concert hall. The restaurant is on the "stage" from where we can see the various levels of the store. It's really amazing.

Editing

I resized my photo, improved the contrast and light.

In my camera bag

As a complete but passionate photo amateur, nowadays I rarely take photos with my older digital camera Olympus VG-160, more often with my previous camera Canon Powershot SX730 HS, taking with me extra batteries, a Star 63 166-3D tripod and a small "Gorilla" one. Very recently, I’m using my newest camera Canon EOS200d with a Canon 55-250mm lens and a brand new Tamron lens 18-400mm.

Feedback

Who am I to give advices to others? I'm a laywoman. What I can say is that if you like photography, try to take photos of everything which call your attention or you like. Whenever possible, take into consideration the light, perspective and composition. Photography starts in your mind through your eyes and your images can tell a lot of things to others, help others, inform others. And, if you really like photography and you have no ideas, then… photograph what you have.
