This image was taken downtown in Modesto, California for a senior shoot I was doing.Time
I love the soft beautiful light of early evenings. The light at that time is just so flattering and enhances your subject's features. We started shooting at about 5 that evening and finished around 7.Lighting
I wanted this to be a happy, feel-good image and the light was perfect along with the leaves framing her face.Equipment

I love to take senior sessions downtown because its so fun and there is such a variety.Editing
I shoot in raw always. I always bring the raw file into ACR and correct the white balance and fix any exposure issues. I then take the image into Photo Shop and play around until it fits the vision I had in my mind.In my camera bag
I always have my Nikon d700 along with my 35mm and my 50mm 1.4. Both are great!Feedback
Go to fun places and use framing around your subject. I love to shoot from different angles and I was standing on the hood of a friend's car to capture the look that I waneted. Shoot and shoot till you get what your after.
