Location
This photo was taken at the Forbidden City in Beijing. It is not unusual for young women in particular to wear traditional clothing at this historic site. I spotted this young woman from across the courtyard and fortunately was able to capture her from a fistance with my zoom lens. I was attracted by the contrasting shades of red from her lips through her outfit to the oxide in the stone walls. I also love her contemplative poseTime
This was taken mid morning on a bitterly cold but sunny day fortunately protected from the windLighting
The natural light was absolutely perfect for this shotEquipment
I used a cannon eos 7D with a 16 to 300 zoomInspiration
As mentioned above I was drawn by the contemplative pose and the contrasting shades of Red. Also in a major tourist attraction of vast size to find a person isolated in a private space appealed to me.Editing
