I took this photo in Amsterdam on a winters day.Time
It was about 4 PM.Lighting
It was just a natural shot.Equipment
I didn't use any equipment other then my wonderful little Lumix DMC-TZ100, a very nice compact camera for spontanious street photography.Inspiration
I was walking towards the central station with my wife when she decided to go into a shop, so I saw a nice opportunity to go look for a nice photo in wonderful Amsterdam. Across the street I saw this row of old house at one the many canals. In between of these wonderful buildings was a small one, squeezed in... A give away chance for a nice capture! I tried to create a composition in which this little proud hero would play an important role without focusing too much on it.Editing
I post processed it in Lightroom.In my camera bag
I don't have any equipment in my bag (yet) I am a beginning photographer and I am learning to use a camera, to look for the good light, composition and point of view. One day when I know how to use and set the camera well enough, I will start to think about a bag filled with technical things instead of the need to understand...Feedback
If you look at a subject to photograph, you have to try to realise what you want to achieve, Try to find the good light, the right point of view and the best composition. Try to find that "extra" that creates a story, a fantasy. And most of all, take more shots with slightly different settings so you can choose the best one, once you got home and opened your laptop, the magic of today's world begins... I always crop it later into the size and composition I like best. Crop the photo in different ways, so you can choose the best one the next day when you can have a fresh look at them!day when you can have a fresh look at them!
