My take on this weekend. Been eyeing on this composition as I travel to Manila, having passed this area everyday. It rained this afternoon, clouds were scattered all around, immediately thought of heading out and take the scene.

Location
This was taken next to our city, in Noveleta, Cavite, Philippines. This used to be a fish pond and way back then, salt bed for commercial/table use.Time
This was taken before sunset at 5:24pm, where the sun was on my left side providing diffused light with matching colorful sky/cloud formation. Some days are just lucky enough to have a keeper heading back home.Lighting
Was indeed planning to have a sunset lighting which I knew then how the location would look like as we pass this way when heading outside our city. Planning ahead and to know what composition in mind, setting up my gear will just be easy.Equipment
Fujfilm XT-1, XF10-24mm f/4 lens, Lee Big Stopper nd10, Manfrotto "Be Free" tripod and a shutter release cable.Inspiration
Using my nd10 Lee Big Stopper, with my Manfrotto, "Be Free" would definitely assured me of having a keeper from this location. As resident of our city, this scenery-mangrove pond provides us a close to nature feel as we pass this almost 2 kilometer area. However, recently, some developer have land filled some of part of these mangrove pond, part of which I was still able to take a photo featured in my account. For all the reason, photography is our tool to keep a record of our place we used to enjoy. Have taken this location for it may be just gone in the days to come; a sad reality!Editing
Single shot, Made some tweaks of highlights, shadows and exposure in Lightroom. Cropped it to my taste showing the reflection of the sky onto the still water. In my camera bag
For landscape, I would usually bring now my Fujifilm XT-1, two lenses, XF10-24mm and my XF55-200mm being light. Other times, I take with my Nikon D800, Nikon 24-85mm 3.5-4.5 vr g and my Tamron 70-200mm 2.8 vc usd if I knew I would take a location that has more detailed elements the scene would demand. My tripod is a Manfrotto, "Be Free" model. Would bring my ND Lee Big Stopper and shutter release for long exposure shots, which I love to take.Feedback
Sundown and sunset have diffuse lighting, hence, it brings out better colors specially when your scene have potential to radiate these colors effectively. Using an nd filter would help also in having better grade output of your captures. Learn how to use them and you will notice a dramatic difference from your previous images. Likewise, using filters, would do less post processing in my opinion. Keep on experimenting and you will get an image with proper settings .accordingly. Save them and remember. Thank you Viewbug for selecting my photo for image of the month! Indeed, it keeps me motivated, that I have been doing something that pleases my audiences' expectation.
