Wheatear - This shot was taken during a nice warm sunny day at Greenham Common, Berkshire.
Taking images in harsh sunlight can be most challenging so it's imperative to get your camera settings spot on as well as your positioning. Shooting a subject in an evenly lit area is often key when facing such hazards. For this particular shot I had to set my exposure compensation down to -1 stop as my first efforts saw the Wheatear's whitish plumage over-exposed. I was very fortunate that my subject wasn't too spooked at my presence which thankfully allowed me enough time to dial in the appropriate settings for the exposure.
