Location
The photo was taken near the center of Milan.I often walk between the streets of my city in order to find new subjects to photograph. I had never noticed the grandeur and majesty of that place, despite i seeing it very often.Time
It was a cold night of January, i was walking whit my camera willing to find some new innovative elements to capture in a big and famous city like Milan. I had no tripod whit me so i tried to hold my hand steady to avoid less blur in the final pic.Lighting
Ther was beautiful lights that shone from the arcs and the bell and reflected some magic shadows towards the doorway. It's like the rappresentation of the holy spirit that guide the viewers directly at the entrance.Equipment
This was shot on a Sony A7iii whit a Sony 24 mm 1.4 Gmaster lens.Inspiration
I was inspired by the perfect clear night sky and especially from the beautiful lighting that highlights the details of that Romanesque Basilica. Also i was inspired by the rare case to find the cloister completely desert.Editing
I only some lighting parameter, i increased slightly the exposure and reduced the night noise of the pic.In my camera bag
I always pack the formidable Sony A7iii with me, i can take perfect photos and also nice videos with that camera. Then i pack a Sony Gmaster 24mm 1.4, it alwaysallows me to shot clear photos, whether that i shot architecture or landscape photos. I also pack a Sony 28-70 mm that help me in some particular cases when i want to do some occasional macro or streeth photography. In the end i always carry with me a tripod, that allows me to shot photos with long exposure.Feedback
For me e absence of people is the most important thing in architectural photography, because it help the viewers to focus on the main subject, so you need a lot of pacience in order to find the right moment to shot. Then another tip that i can give is to try to align the geometric shapes present in the subject that you want capture to emphasize the shapes that make the subject so interesting and pleasant to look at.
