This photo was taken in the spur of the moment in Cologne, Germany. I was visiting and was lucky to connect with Xenia, an amazing person and wonderful model. We decided to shoot with no preparation at all. This is the window of her house and it overlooks a field.Time
I clearly remember it was a rainy autumn afternoon. We were on a break from the rest of the shoot and she was sitting by her window. The moment was perfect, and the light hitting her was perfect to reflect the weather and the vibes of the season. I want to say this was taken around 2 pm while raining was humming outside.Lighting
Natural light is always what does it for me. The rain and the light from the thunder help to highlight the model.Equipment
Just my camera (Canon 6D) was used for this shot. It was one of those that the model is relaxed, the light was perfect and it all came together spontaneously.Inspiration
The model's relaxed posed and her dreamy expression. She was just thinking to herself, not trying to be a model, but in that moment she became the vessel of a wonderful capture.Editing
Indeed, I did. Nothing extreme, the picture was almost perfect. Some shadows here and there and some corrections. But overall it was just one of those times that the click spoke by itself. In my camera bag
I most definitely carry two or maybe three different kind of Canon lenses (50mm, 35 mm and a 24-70 mm). Always have a backup of camera memory cards and wipes for the lenses. Tripods are not really my thing, unless I know I will need one.Feedback
Be there in the moment. Just watch for it in between the poses. Just let the model do his or her thing and it will be there. You just need to be paying close attention and capture it. It won't always be there, but when it is and you are waiting for it it will happen.
