What can I say, I’m a sucker for curvy desert-scapes.
Over the Thanksgiving holiday, we had a vacation planned in San Diego, CA. Driving from Salt Lake City, UT. we stayed outside Vegas to break up the long drive. This presented an opportunity to explore the Mojave Desert.
To make the 6:30am sunrise with a 1 hour drive and a 1.5 hour hike to some remote dunes, the 3:40am wake-up call came quick. The rewards? Not seeing a single sole Thanksgiving day morning and having the entire area to myself, my thoughts, and my camera.
(Let’s not talk about dropping my camera and it rolling and flipping about 30 times down the steep sandy incline until I could catch it! Don’t worry, Canon's weather sealing it top notch.)
