This photo was taken in my backyard during early June.Time
About mid to late-day so it was pretty warm. She sat under a tree at first, fanning herself so her makeup wouldn't melt off. I wanted shaded natural light and my backyard faces east so by that time most of the sun was in the front of the house.Lighting
All natural light and mostly in the shade. I love working in natural light and tend to scout locations to find perfect spots for whatever the "theme" or "look" is of the shoot. Colorado has some amazing outdoor spots as you can imagine. I feel fortunate living fairly close to most of them.Equipment
Canon EOS Rebel SL2 and EF 50mm f 1/4 USM. No other equipment.Inspiration
I love taking shots of models on the grass and wanted a glamour shot on the grass. I had Erika lay on the grass naturally, rolling and turning as if she was lounging on her own. Her hair fell in her face as she rolled to her side and when she went to move it, I told her to leave it and took the shot.Editing
I used Adobe Lightroom to enhance colors and that was it.In my camera bag

This shot would be good for a mid to late day preferably on the east side of a building or house in the shade. Take some practice shots and allow your model to move naturally on the grass.
