My daughter came home for Christmas, and although she's at that age where she doesn't want her picture taken, I was able to snag a quick shot while she was curled up reading.Time
Afternoon after lunch, I was just walking by, and saw the light streaming in, and thought it was just too magical a moment to pass up. Grabbing my camera, before she noticed, I was able to snap a quick shot.Lighting
Natural lighting, to me, always makes the best images. If you can capture it through a window, slightly diffused, you'll always get a golden image.Equipment
My Nikon D850 is always handy, and with my Sigma 50mm 1.4 already attached, it's the perfect setup for portraits.Inspiration
Taking pictures of my children is always my favorite inspiration. They're getting older, and I want to capture every single moment I can.Editing
There was very little processing for this image, as everything was perfect. A fortunate series of light, and pose, that I couldn't have set up any better. In my camera bag
My bag is packed tight, with my Nikon D850, and my backup Nikon D800. I always carry three lens, My Nikkor 70-200 2.8, my Nikkor 24-70 2.8, and my Sigma 50 1.4 I'm a freak about back ups, so I have two chargers, 6 battery's, and multiple cards. With my laptop, and flash stuffed in the back, I'm good to travel anywhere with confidence.Feedback
I give every photographer the same advice I was given. Shoot what you enjoy, and don't ever compare yourself to another photographer. There will always be someone better. Be the best you can be, and jump at any chance to learn more.
