Behind The Lens

Location

This image was taken at Perry lake Kansas. This hawk was eating on a discarded remains of crappie that local fisherman had recently caught.

Time

This image was taken in the mid morning i had woken up to a fresh snow and thought I go and see what i could find to photograph.

Lighting

It was a heavy overcast day so there was a nice soft ligjt available most of the day.

Equipment

For this image I was using a Canon 5Dmk4 with sigma 150-600 mm lens and about three layers of winter clothing.

Inspiration

After seeing the hawk it just stood out in the fresh snow I was really looking for red fox or coyote. But this let me slowly creep close for some great images

Editing

I did very little processing made adjustments to white balance and few other minor adjustments.

In my camera bag

I normally have just a few items in my bag because I like traveling light. For lenses the canon 24-105, canon 24mm 1.8 and the sigma 150-600. I also bring along a tripod also carry extra battery and sd card.

Feedback

Adventure outside i find right after storms everything looks clean and the smell is awesome
