I haven’t been on a ferris wheel in 30 years. So why did I find myself on one at the Pushkar Camel Fair in the state of Rajasthan, India? And why does a camel fair have a ferris wheel? In fact, it had a little carnival with several rides, 3 ferris wheels for some reason. So there I was on a ferris wheel in India.
The carnival only adds to the pure sensory overload. Noise, color, movement, camels, horses, people, markets, shapes, smells. This carnival even has a bright pink fake grass carpet. That’s because underneath the carnival and the entire camel fair is dunes. Dune after dune. Sand, lots of sand.
