Location
Returning from a wedding in Houston, we stopped in a small hamlet along the Black River for a break. Wandering around, I found a stretch of land that might have been park, but looked more like undeveloped land where an old bridge had once stood.Time
This would have been around noon, a November day.Lighting
Partially overcast, what we once would have called "open shade."Equipment
Canon 60D, 28-105 lens.Inspiration
Inspiration is in the moment. Light catches your attention, shapes suggest...something. It's pre-analysis, almost every time. The "something struck me" experience. After the initial capture, you look more closely, you see possibilities. Then you start thinking about the image as more than just a bright distraction.Editing
I've rarely found an image that did not benefit from work. Back in my early days, before digital, that would entail darkroom time, cropping, chemical variations, etc. Now, in Photoshop, the possibilities can be dizzying. In my camera bag
Camera, two lenses, a polarizing filter and a set of close-up filters. Strobe. An extra chip.Feedback
As always, be open to your surroundings. And in this instance, if you thik you should stop the car and wander around, do it!
