Location
This photo was taken on a backyard bird feeder. There had just been a late November snow and the birds were ready to dineTime
The photo was taken around 3:00pm. The sun goes down pretty early in the late fall and winter months. This would be considered evening lightingLighting
-Equipment
I use a Nikon D3400 with a 70-300 zoom lens. I also use a Polaroid unipod. It is light weight, easy to maneuver and helps hold the camera still during the chill of the fall and winter monthsInspiration
Blue Jays are such beautiful birds. I wanted to show that this bird is just as beautiful on a back yard bird feeder as it is perched on a fence.Editing
I use Adobe Lightroom for post processing. It helps with adjusting my exposure and croppingIn my camera bag
I normally just carry my camera, a wide angle kit lens 50-70, a zoom lens 70-300, and plenty of memory cards.Feedback
Patients is the best way to get action bird shots. You may sit for a long time before you get the shot that you love
