Location
This was from a photoshoot out here on Westside Road in Wine Country. It’s Alongside some of the most beautiful wineries here in California.Time
This is one of my most favorite portraits of all time. I remember this day very, very clearly. It was the morning of my Mouth implant surgery. I remember being in so much pain and having to get these photos done and powering through it. This was the 3rd outfit change and Finally and the end of this outfit change I got the shot! I remember it very well cause the timing was perfect as I was heading to the other photo destinations around 11:00am. I got this shot on a Thursday, in the spring of 2014.Lighting
I remember it was sort of cloudy so I had to wait in between outfits for the right lighting to be just perfect! And once I got that shot I knew that this photoshoot was going to be a breeze with the beautiful vineyards and barn around me.Equipment
I was using my Nikon d750 with a 105mm and i was holding my camera to get different positions.Inspiration
I wanted to do a photoshoot with hats and in a winery location as well. Looking at it defiantly is giving me some inspiration and cool ideas I want to go try now!Editing
With this photo I just ran it into photoshoot and just affected the lighting and contrast as well as the eyes and little bit of editing along the face. Not too much went into editing this one!In my camera bag
Depending on the bag, I used to bring my Nikon d750 as well as my Nikon d7100 with me. I’d have my 105mm and my 24-70mm in there and for the d7100 I would bring my 50mm and 55-300mm. And nowadays I use my Sony a7iii with my 24-70mm and i love it!Feedback
If you’d like to go take some portraits just remember what lighting you have that day and to make sure no harsh shadows as well and deciding on what your background should be and how much you’d like your person to be in the image! That’s what I did for this photo! And don’t forget to make sure your bag is ready to go the day before charged and all! I’ve done that a few times on accident.. oops! Have fun! ;)
