Location
I took this photo in Carleton Place ,Ontario Canada by a river in summer. I love watching the ring billed seagulls dive and fly in the water. I used a tripod and my D7100 camera with a 500 mm lens. This ring billed gull was dropping the object in the water and retrieving it before the other gulls found it. The wind was up and made it hard to retrieve each time.Time
It was taken in the late afternoon along a nature trail. The trail has a walking path along the water for everyone to admire.Lighting
I used no flash. I used Manual mode and bracketed the photosEquipment
Lens hood and tripod mostly used.Inspiration
I love nature and the ring billed gulls are fun to watch in the water.Editing
No post processing. Cropped photo. In my camera bag
In my bag I have lens cover and extra batteries . I have an extra lens 100 mm for close up on plants. My camera bag is full of macro cloth to wipe camera equipment and rain shield for rain.Feedback
Be patient and take lots of photos to edit later. Watch around the object . Watch how the other birds join in and how they cooperate or add to your image. Can make or hurt the photo idea.
