Location
This is a view of Lago di Misurina in the Belluno Province of Northern Italy. My son and I were on a father/son trip in the Dolomite's in October 2019. Since Chris lives in Italy and knows the Dolomite's very well (also speaks Italian), he was my guide and local "fixer" for the trip. We were going to visit the Tre Cima and, latter, to climb a Via Ferrata.Time
We stopped on the north side of the lake so Chris could buy some lunch for us. It was about 9am when we drove up to the lake. We were on the way to the nearby Tre Cime di Lavaredo. While Chris went into a store, I wandered around the lake with my camera capturing this view and several others.Lighting
Since it mid October, the sun was slowly rising with sunlight only the western formations of the mountains but the shadows and light were fascinating.Equipment
Used a Canon 5D Mark 2 with a 24-70mm lens. This is a boots on the ground photo from walking around the lake.Inspiration
Everything about the Dolomite's makes me want to photograph the landscape and the culture.Editing

I tend to travel light when in Italy because I only use carry-on luggage to get there. This trip I had my 24 to 70mm lens as well as a 50mm prime lens.Feedback
