Location
This was taken in Michigan's Upper Peninsula near the town of Munising. The UP has so much undisturbed land that I have made many trips up there to different areas.Time
My travel partner and I found this waterfall in the mid afternoon. We had to hike a ways to get down to the falls and then spent a lot of time climbing around getting all sorts of shots. It was really fun to hike beneath the falls and around to an area where I was able to snap this shot.Lighting
This falls is a short hike in a forest but the lighting is just the natural light of the day.Equipment
I use a Nikon D7500 with usually and 18x300 lens with a tripod.Inspiration
Michigan's UP is so beautiful with so much land that has been undisturbed for years. It is a favorite place for photographers and just nature-loving people.Editing
The only post processing that I do is usually to crop the shot and adjust the lighting just a little.In my camera bag
In my bag I carry a couple other lenses as well as extra SD cards and batteries.Feedback
The one thing I've found is that good photography requires an "eye" for what makes a good shot and also a great deal of patience to wait for exactly the right moment to take the shot. I carry a small camping chair in my vehicle because sometimes you have to wait a while for the perfect moment to appear. For me, it is also helpful to shoot with another photographer because everyone sees something different and it is so nice to be able to see things through someone else's eyes.
