On a busy morning men and women are going to work in their black suits, with big clocks implanted on their necks.
A little dog is wandering around, a little scared amongst these chrono-creatures.

Behind The Lens

Location
I took the photo in Italy.
Time
It was around 11 a.m.
Lighting
I chose a day with a cloudy sky and a time with the sunlight on the opposite wall of the building
Equipment
I took the photo with my Canon 5D mark IV equipped with a Canon Zoom Lens EF 24-70 mm f:2.8 L II USM mounted on a tripod, with a remote shutter control and no flashes.
Inspiration
I dedicate many photos and photographic concepts to the subject of Time inside present and past cultures and civilisations. I am always astonished and quite scared for the violence of Western unidirectional contemporary concept of Time and the huge damages that it do to the minds of human beings, warping and distorting them at a very deep level. The rational concept of Time in the West is incredibly effective from a material perspective but our societies have deleted the other Chronos' twin brother: the subjective Kairos, known in the ancient Greek civilisation as the most important dimension of Time, the Time of the emotions, the time that can contain huge durations even inside one second of objective Chronos.
Editing
I shot the photo with twenty actors and actresses and a dog (little York). The actors where told to get dressed in black and were instructed to walk back and forth at synchronised moments. In post-processing I create some additional copies of my actors in order to increase them to thirty workers.T
In my camera bag
I normally work without bags, with my camera in my hands and the finger on the shutter button. I lost too many wonderful photos because of objects in bags and pockets while the perfect once-in-a lifetime scenes evaporated in less than half a second. When I work with planned concepts I use a tripod, a magnifying glass to peruse every squared millimetre of the frame on the led screen, a mobile for remote control and a paper and a pencil to write things useful in the post-processing work.
Feedback
Plan everything, leave no room for random things on the scene, do several surveys and visits to the location at different times during the day, work only with positive people, make excuses for negative people and keep them away from the location, prepare yourself to go home without decent photos, complain with curious and passers-by on the scene, remember the amount of time and despair in the previous post-processing session, due to your carelessness during the previous shooting on the scene...
