Bidding farewell to Goddess Durga as she proceeds to her husband's house make us gloomy after five days of Durga Puja festivities - a festival of faith, belief, rituals, worship and immense bonding with each other.
To end this on a happy note and wishing her a safe journey back home, women draped in their traditional red and white saree bid adieu to Maa Durga by applying vermillion (Sindoor) on her head parting and offering sweets.
Sindoor Khela is a custom after bidding farewell to Maa Durga where women greet each other with a happy face by applying vermillion on each other.
This is to end the festival on a happy note with a hope to celebrate it again the next year. So we all say - Asche bochor abar hobe, Joy Ma Durga!!
