This photo was taken in my home studio. I have various setups for my clients to play on.Time
This day was so empowering; I had a boudoir marathon and had several clients booked. Savanna booked specifically to grow her model portfolio; this is definitely one of my favorite images from that day. This photo was taken in the late afternoon, when the sun glows into my studio.Lighting
In my home studio, I have an abundance of natural light; ranging from my 3 large windows that cover and entire wall, a bay window, a couple small plant windows and 3 skylights. My goal was to create a sweet but sultry look while really highlighting her beautiful features. I rarely ever shoot with studio lights; I prefer natural light that I can play around with shadows.Equipment
This was shot in manual mode with a Canon Rebel T7i and a 50 mm fixed lens. No other equipment was used.Inspiration
This photo was really just inspired by what my client wanted in her portfolio. We shot a variety of poses with some being nude, glamour, fashion, boudoir and headshots. I shot a few headshots that were more professional but I wanted to give her the sexy to her sweet. I think I accomplished this very well.Editing
I edit more on the moody side; with this image, I did all my processing on Lightroom and topped it with a preset I created myself. I brightened her eyes so they would really "pop" and "bring you in".In my camera bag
My camera bag consists of a few key items I love to use, whether it be indoor or outdoor sessions. First I pack my 50 mm lens, it has been a game changer in my business. Of course I carry my Canon Rebel T7i! I also add my photography crystals, extra battery packs, SD cards and in my top compartment I always have a little snack.Feedback
With boudoir, everyone is nervous. Be patient and gracious with yourself. Check your angles and make sure your models chin is strong and lips are relaxed. Take a couple shots so you have images to work with during processing. And always watch your focus; it's never fun when you find an image you love but you discover you missed focus.
