Behind The Lens

Location
We took this picture during a roadtrip to the Grimsel- Region in the swiss alps. Manuel Scheigegger and I just wanted to have a good time and take some Pictures in the beautiful area...
Time
After looking for some photospots we found this terrific rockformation above the Grimsel- lake. Just before the sun disappeared behind the mountains, we could catch the magical light of the sunset.
Lighting
The light of the sunset was allready perfect. We only used one single speedlight to highlight the rider.
Equipment
The shot was taken with the Sony A7Riii an the 24-70 F2.8 GM Lens. The speedlight was from Godox.
Inspiration
Manuel Scheidegger is a great rider. We know each other from work. On this roadtrip we tried to bring our passions together.
Editing
The light was allready beautiful. I only used Lightroom to bring out the warm sunset colors and to darken the reflections of the strobe on the rock a little...
In my camera bag
I worked with Canon gear for years. Last summer, My whole camerabag was stolen, So I decided to change to a mirrorless Sonysystem with my insurance money. Up to now I didn't regret my decision… I use the Sony A7Riii, often together with the 24-70 F2.8 GM lens or the 70-200 2.8 GM.
Feedback
To take great sportsshots you need really good riders, a lot of time and luck with the weather. Just go out, have fun and try your best. The most important Thing ist to enjoy your time in nature!
