I was on vacation with a friend, but I had a few days to myself to get out and explore the area. I found the park during my travels and I stopped there for a couple of hours. I enjoyed walking around by the park, looking at the beautiful flowers, bugs, and birds, and relaxing by the lake.Editing
I enjoy the challenge of trying different combinations of shutter speed, aperture, distances, and angles to capture unique perspectives of the treasures I find in the natural environment. I take hundreds of shots over the course of the day, and although it takes a lot of time to go through them all, I usually find quite a few "keepers." Then I go through them again another day to weed out some more. I've tried a little post-processing when printing my pictures, but the ones on my ViewBug account have not been processed. In my camera bag
I usually leave my camera bag in the car. It contains a gray screen to customize the light balance, an air dust blower, a flash, a spare battery, and a few memory cards. Then I keep things light as I walk around and explore, carrying my camera on a shoulder neck strap, and carrying my cell phone and other necessities in a pocket or fanny pack.Feedback
To me, the most important factor in taking great shots is finding locations and/or activities that I love. Whenever possible, I try to plan my outings for days when I have no time constraints. I like to view my outings as scavenger hunts, with the mission of finding hidden treasures. I stay alert to the sights and sounds around me, taking as many shots as I can, exploring angles, lighting, and composition. I also spend a lot of time on the ViewBug website, exploring the work of amazing photographers. It has inspired me to look at the world from new perspectives.
