Behind The Lens

Location

This photograph was taken at Lake Wheeler in Raleigh, NC. I’m a self-taught photographer and have had great help from other photographers around me when I’m looking to learn a new skill.

Time

This is one of my favorite images. It was taken just after lunch time and there where enough trees and clouds to help me play with the lighting a bit and capture it correctly.

Lighting

Godox AD600 with 7’ Wescott umbrella

Equipment

Nikon D7100 with a 85mm f/1.8 Nikon prime lens.

Inspiration

I’ve known the model for many years and this was a time after a rough part of her life to wash off the bad and rekindle what she found beautiful about herself. A time to drown the negative and taking on life in a fierce way. Her mental health and her heart were finally healing and this was the start of finding her fire again.

Editing

Very light post processing. Only adjusted contrast and shadows.

In my camera bag

Nikon D850 Sigma 70-200mm 2.8 Nikon 85mm 1.8 Godox Wireless transmitter

Feedback

Lots of bug spray Careful with the water and your gear Don’t be afraid to get dirty Have fun!
