Behind The Lens

Location

Canary Wharf overground station in London.

Time

It was taken on an overcast day in early spring in London.

Lighting

There was a bit of fog on that day and it helped to create the mood.

Equipment

Just my camera Canon 5D Mark II and 17-40 Canon F4 lens.

Inspiration

I am in love with the architecture in Canary Wharf - many tall buildings and a lot of steelwork.

Editing

Very straight forward - desaturated and added quite a bit of contrast to enhance the foreground geometry and make it stand out. The natural fog did the rest with the building in the background.

In my camera bag

Camera, travel tripod and usually 2-3 lenses. My usual setup is 17-40mm F4, Canon 35mm f1.4 and Canon 70-200 F2.8.

Feedback

Always have your camera ready. Ideally you need to have a good all round lens that you really like and comfortable using. You need to be able to react quick, spot a good shot opportunity, quickly find the meaningful composition and take a shot.
