Location
This photo was taken in a rustic old hotel, but the owners wish to be anonymous.Time
I took the photo in the afternoon of the shoot, about 3pm. We had worked on several compositions but I love this one the best.Lighting
There was one window in shot letting just a small amount of light in and another bigger window out of shot on the right side of the scene. I used a single light, Godox ad360ii and 36" octobox above and left of subject.Equipment
Camera was Nikon D7200, lens was Sigma 17-50 f2.8 and Godox AD 360ii flash, with 36" ocobox.Inspiration
The inspiration was a boudoir and art nude shoot I planned with the model, the location was a lovely hotel and the ideas just kept coming. This was my very first solo shoot with a model, I had done some workshops in the past but never thought I would grow to love this type of photography. This shoot started me on the path I now follow with all my passion, I live to create beautiful images like this and strive for perfection in every shoot I do.Editing
Post production was a little tricky, I had to remove a shower from the left of the frame, the bathroom was small and even using my Sigma 17- 50mm f2.8 didn't give me lots of room to work but got there in the end. I didn't need to do much skin smoothing, the models skin was great, then converted to black & white. In my camera bag
Nikon D500, Tamron SP 45mm f1.8 and Sigma 17-50mm f2.8Feedback
If you can see the room or see photo's of the room it can inspire what you want to shoot. I always share my ideas with the model before the shoot so they can come prepared for what we are shooting. I will always sit and chat with model before we start and listen to any ideas they have, it can make for some great shots and gets me and the model relaxed and comfortable to shoot together. I have made some lovely friends with the models I shoot, we always have a laugh and enjoy the days shooting.
