This image is one of many taken with my photography club, The Chicks that Click. We were inspired by Joel Grimes and have been pursuing VW Bugs to shoot for the last year or so. I think the number is close to 20. We are having a gallery showing in Sept-Oct 2020 in Aiken, SC. I will be entering several of mine. This actually isn't one of them.

Location
This image was captured in Aiken, SC. I am a member of an All Ladies photography club called, The Chicks that Click. We decided to find local VW Bug owners, and set up shoots, as Volkswagen had declared they were stopping production of the VW Beetle. This classic car has had such an impact on so many of our lives, and in our memories that we set our course for the year. We had many shoots, with a number of models, and numerous color Bugs, with a number of themes, from Wizard of Oz, to Santa on Vacay, to the Circus, to this themed shoot, The Black Bug & the Ballerinas.Time
This was shot later in the afternoon.Lighting
It was fairly even lighting out, so shadows weren't much of an issue.Equipment
Handheld, Canon 60 D, Natural light. I shot this theme mainly with the 24-105.Inspiration
With the Ballerinas (there were 3) dancing all around the Black Bug, I wanted to concentrate on capturing the feet and the movement of the dancer.Editing
Yes, I shoot in raw. Import into Lightroom classic, and work from wherever my heart leads in the editing process. In my camera bag
I now mainly use a full frame, Canon 6d Mark ii. Normally, I have a 70-200, a 24-105, and a wide angle, 17-40 in my bag. Along with extra sd cards, camera batteries, cleaning gear, etc. And rain gear for bag and camera.Feedback
If you are part of a photography club have fun with a year of a particular theme that holds meaning to most of your members. It brings a lot of laughter, shared fun & memories, and creativity.
