Behind The Lens

Location

The photograph was taken on the terrace of my house. It is a place with a lot of natural light.

Time

Taken at midday, so there is plenty of light to compensate for the loss of light from macro lenses.

Lighting

Hard and direct light to avoid problems with the macro.

Equipment

Canon EOS 7D, macro SIGMA 105mm, without tripod and flash. For the background, a sheet of hard, opaque white plastic.

Inspiration

I was inspired by the relationship between a natural and an artificial element that share similar characteristics.

Editing

Basic post-processing: Contrast, colour, noise reduction.

In my camera bag

Lenses that allow me to capture animals. 400mm, 250mm (much more manageable than the previous one), 18-135mm all-terrain and of course my star lens, the 105mm macro.

Feedback

In this type of photos, you are at the mercy of the animal. If the animal does not want to cooperate, it is best to set it free and try another animal at another time. It is very important that the animal does not suffer any damage. In this photo the ladybug was rescued from a very dangerous place for her and very difficult to exit and after the photo she was released in a nearby garden.
