Hi Chris, Congratulations on your win.

Behind The Lens

This photo was taken in Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia, along the town's main street.
It was around 7:30 in the morning. Mahone Bay is a popular destination in the summer and I decided to shoot some pictures before visitors began arriving..
The light in this image is all natural morning light.
This shot was taken with a hand-held Canon EOS 1300D camera.
My husband and I were on a two-week trip to Canada's Maritime provinces. A photographer's paradise, it seemed as if we were always within view of the water and quaint seaside communities. I was struck by this image because there was absolutely nothing nautical about it.
The flower was soft-to-the-touch. I wanted to convey this in the image itself. So I reduced the clarity when editing it.
In my camera bag
In my bag, you'll always find my Canon EOS 1300D, telephoto and wide angle lens and some filters.
Of course, as photographers we need to focus (pun intended!) and plan ahead. But when the unexpected appears, take advantage of that gift.
