The photo was taken in Alexandrovsky garden near the Admiralty and the Palace square in St.Petersburg, Russia. Golden Autumn is my best loved season in St.Petersburg - its fine parks and gardens become really golden, and the air feels fresh and tasty never mind you are in the very center of a big city.Time
Photo was taken in the daytime with no special preparation - i just went for a walk and the camera was with me as always.Lighting
Light was bright and soft, with reflections of gold everywhere.Equipment
It was my old Canon 550D with 18-135 mm lens, no tripod necessary due to enough light.Inspiration
I saw that diagonal of empty benches with just one man sitting far away, gold above and beneath and felt my Canon's time had come.Editing
Processing was very simple - i have developed the RAW file and made gold a bit more saturated. In my camera bag
Now i walk with a modern Sony 7M3 - it does provide much more possibilities in case of low light, but at that moment it would hardly work better.Feedback
If you'll ever want to see St.Petersburg, edge of September and October will probably be your best choice. If not to count for white nights in June of course. Uncomparable seasons but both with exclusive charm. Just walk and keep both your eyes and soul open.
