I heard somewhere about this photo, is it not true that it is a particular time of day, or time or the moon cycle you can get this photo?

This is called the Manhattanhenge. It happens 4 times a year but only two times you can get the full sun. I shot this over the Tudor City overpass on 42nd St and 1st Ave in Manhattan.

Location
This photo was taken at the Tudor City Overpass located at Tudor City Pl and 42nd St in Manhattan.Time
This photo was taken on July 12, 2019 at 7:22 PM. The preparation (waiting) of this shot was over 8 hours. Photographers were all gathered at the location as early as 11:00 am in the morning. I was the third photographer that arrived and reserved a really good spot.Lighting
I am a self-taught photographer so everything is new to me. It is not easy to shoot directly toward the sun while maintaining decent amount of details of the foreground. There were only a few minutes of trial and error to get the camera setting correct before the sun set exactly in the middle between the buildings.Equipment
This photo was shot with my Canon EOS 6D Mark II with EF 16-35mm f/2.8L III USM on a tripod.Inspiration
This was my second attempt to shoot the Manhattanhenge. My first attempt was a total failure because I arrived too late and the overpass was packed with other photographers. I always love to shoot sunrise and sunset, and definitely cityscapes and landscapes. Manhattanhenge is the best opportunity for me to learn and improve my photography skills.Editing
I didn't post-process this image and it was shot at jpag format. Main reason is because I didn't know how back then. I kind of like it the way it came out especially the sun burst. In my camera bag
I always carry at least two lenses depending on what I intended to shoot that day. I always have a wide angle and a telephoto lenses ready in my bag. And of course, a tripod.Feedback
Patience and knowledge of your camera setting are what's needed to shoot the Manhattanhenge. Patience because you have to get there very early to reserve a good spot. Knowledge because you really have only a minute or so to adjust the settings to make the shot perfect. Manhattanhenge only happens 4 times a year. Besides getting to Manhattan on the right day, weather also makes an important factor if the photo session will turn out to be a success or not.
