Part of a series of photos from the 2019 Highway 43 Car Club's "Father's Day Car Show" - I always look for the unique features of a vehicle and focus on that, as well as trying different angles and compositions to capture photos that really showcase the natural beauty of some of these vehicles.

Having been doing photography for around 40 years as a hobby, I always look for different ways to capture images, always thinking outside the box - angles, composition and lighting... I love the low angles, especially for automotive photography, and this I find brings more attention to the shot. I look for unique features of a vehicle and focus on that to bring the true beauty of the vehicle out.Equipment
Shot with Canon 6D Mk II and EF 24-105mm f/4 L lens, no tripod, camera literally on the groundInspiration
Photography has always been something I loved, but had been a love-hate relationship off and on over the years. Almost 3 years ago, I bought my Canon 6D Mk II and started shooting car shows and fell in love with photography again... with a whole new passion for what I was doing. There I found there was an untold beauty in many of the vehicles I’d been shooting over the last 2+ years. Every new vehicle was an inspiration for the next while I developed my own style.Editing
I shoot everything in Raw only, and use almost exclusively Adobe Lightroom CC Classic to edit - bringing down the highlights, up the shadows, adjust exposure, contrast, bump saturation, add a little clarity and dehaze. In my camera bag
Recently I added a Sony a6400 with a 16-135mm f/3.5-5.6, a Zhiyun Weebill-S 3 axis gimbal - for video shoots - but my Canon is my go to photography camera.Feedback
Look for the unique features of a vehicle - what makes it stand out more from other vehicles - try different compositions, angles, look for that shit that will really bring out that feature... I generally shoot with a wide open Aperture to create more focus on what I am trying to capture.
