Behind The Lens

This photo was taken in my home studio. This was my first attempt at taking photos of live animals. It was so challenging as the kitten didn't want to stay still even for 1 sec. I barked like a dog and got this photo. Really happy with the result.
The photo was taken during the day. As it was very cloudy I couldn't use natural light so I decided to use a soft box. I think this was a great choice.
I am still learning and tried different setups that day. I still think that using natural light would work better but because kittens are so active, soft box help a lot to get the perfect shot.
This photo was shot on my Nikon D7200. I was using Sigma 105mm Macro lens, 1/250 sec at f4.0
As an amateur photographer, I am challenging myself in many areas. When I found out that my friends looking to sell their kitten I really wanted to help them. After they posted my photo, the kitten found a new home within a day :-)
Not really, as I think it was no needed for this photo. But because I shot in RAW I just did a small adjustment in contrast. And of course - cropping :-)
In my camera bag
When I started my hobby I probably was carrying all my equipment. I have a big Manfrotto bag and its weight could reach over 15 kg. However, I totally changed my approach since. I usually have just my camera (currently Nikon D750) and 1 lense. I have over 10 different lenses and changing them all the time. It's amazing how you can get absolutely different shots using different lenses from the same location
You need a lot of patience, and also patience. Did I mention that you need a lot of patience? :-) Seriously, everything that I already said - patience, multiply by 5. :-) Also, you may practice your barking skills. It helped me a lot
