In the 19th century, during a visit to Portugal, the British poet Lord Byron fell in love with Sintra, a charming village about 30 km from Lisbon. The charm was so much that, in one of his poems, Byron refers to the place as "glorious Eden." The poet knew well what he said: Sintra is full of natural and architectural charms. Not by chance, the village was classified by Unesco as World Heritage.
