Location
This photo was taken in my hometown of Vassar, Michigan.Time
I took this photo in mid-afternoon.Lighting
At tis time of day, the sun was past its peak, and was shining from the left in the photo, as can be seen in the street in the background. The alley itself was in shadow, but I think that made the colors deeper.Equipment
I used my Canon 80D (hand held), I believe with my 10-18mm lens, f/8, 1/30s and ISO100, using ambient light only.Inspiration
The colors and the message sermed to bring the alley to life, and it just screamed to me to be captured!Editing
Yes. Since I'd based my exposure on the artwork on the alley floor, the street in the background was a bit overexposed. I used masking and exposure adjustments in Luminar 3 to bring the background exposure back in line, so to speak. In my camera bag
Camera and lenses, filters, batteries, flashlights, memory cards, etc.Feedback
Most important is to shoot in RAW. Without that, I wouldn't have been able to do much as far as exposure correction in post processing. The rest is just keeping your eyes open to what's going on around you, and trust your instincts.
