Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken inside the Gran Sasso National Park near a path.

Time

After sunset at 8.30pm, there was no one left, and usually many ungulates come out at that time.

Lighting

There is little to say about lighting, the light was what it was, that is, little.

Equipment

Being a photo taken in a path I was freehand with the shoulder strap hooked onto the telephoto lens bracket.

Inspiration

Since this is a photo of a suspicious wild animal, and especially since it was an occasional and unplanned encounter, there is no inspiration, I just had to press the shutter button before the animal ran away.

Editing

The post production of the photo consisted in reducing the digital noise of luminance and chrominance, it is to adjust the colors a little, the ISO values were very high, but I could not do otherwise if I did not want to have the blur.

In my camera bag

I have many lenses and many accessories, it depends on where I go and what my intentions are, I don't like being too heavy, especially in the mountains, the only certainty is my Canon 500 f / 4 IS II with the Canon 1DXII

Feedback

The only advice I would like to give for photos like this is to go to the mountains and parks in less crowded periods at sunrise or sunset, a shoulder camera with settings already set properly.
