Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken in Taupo, central of the North Island of New Zealand

Time

After a long hikes we finally arrived at the rapids, it was like about 3 pm in the afternoon, scouted around for the best location to shoot,

Lighting

It was cloudy due to the rain earlier which is quite perfect for long exposure, minus those harsh lights where the sun is fully covered by those clouds.

Equipment

It was shot with my Canon EOS1Ds mark 3 and a Canon EF70-200mm F2.8L lens, a steady Manfrotto tripods, shutter release and a BW 10 stops filter.

Inspiration

I always love long exposure photography, waterfalls, rapids, landscapes or seascapes with moving clouds are my favourite.

Editing

I always shoot in raw format, if those exposure are right there is nothing much you need to do in post processing, maybe a little bit of some basic adjustments will do the tricks.

In my camera bag

Various filters, my trusty Canon Eos 1Ds Mk3, Canon EF17-40mm F4L lens, EF70-200mm F2.8L, EF100mm F2.8L macro and a EF24-70mm F2.8L, and some other bits and pieces.

Feedback

Safety is rather paramount when shooting close to edges of a cliff or some unusual places, a steady tripods and another photography friend to tag along as we are always at a remote location.
