This is Antonio - he is one of the great tobacco farmers of Vinales and so passionate about what he does.
.
We sat, talked and rolled cigars (badly) with him for about an hour. Not only that but we did it in a barn full of drying tobacco - an incredible place and atmosphere. He only spoke Spanish but the translator we had roped in was good enough to tirelessly translate the passion that was exuded from the lips and expressions of Antonio.

Tobacco seemed to be so much a part of him I couldn't help but ask when he first smoked... He was 7 when he smoked his first cigar! But it wasn't a proper one - he wanted to smoke so much but his father wouldn't allow it, that he snuck into the fields and rolled fresh, green leaf tobacco into a cigar... and coughed for most of the rest of the afternoon! hahaha :)
