The small town of Valladolid lies just outside Chichen Itza and is a place where I stayed for a few days to kickstart our Yucatan adventures. It's a lovely little town with lovely architecture, great food and friendly people. On one of our walks around the city I came across a pinata workshop. This lady was kind enough to let me sit with her for a while and fire off some shots as she made her next creation.

Did you know, whilst modern day pinatas are made from cardboard and paper and filled with sweets they were traditionally made from ceramics and filled with fruit. You needed a big hammer to crack those open :D
