Night time during Vivid 2019 Festival of light.Lighting
Night time i wanted to get the reflection and colours of the city lights and the orb.Equipment
Nikon D7200, Tokina 11-16mm F2.8, Vanguard travel tripod.Inspiration
Me and my mate had idea to do a Light orb overlooking the famous Sydney harbour, for Vivid Festival of light. we wanted to create some reflection on the old stone wharf so we put some water on the stone to create the orb and same time have cityscape and the light show in background.Editing
Yes after the usual clean up of dust spots, enhancing exposure and colour i used Luminar 3 to create Matte faded look and enhanced the colour and sharpness of the stone wharf then finish off with Vignetting around the bottom half of the image to help draw the eye to the orb and city skyline. In my camera bag
Nikon D7200, tokina 11-16mm F2.8, Tamron 16-300mm, Vanguard alta pro Carbon tripod, spare battery, microfiber cloth.Feedback
when doing orb light always underexpose the image with today's cameras can easily pull out the data from shadow but not highlights. have an idea before hand what you wish to shoot use the first Orb you create to work out the exact angle you wish to have and reposition if you have to for the next orb. Good starting point to keep exposure even with city light is F16 ISO 100 15Secs.
